Softball Game Preview: North Canyon Rattlers vs. Desert Edge Scorpions

North Canyon hasn't had much luck against Desert Edge recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The North Canyon Rattlers will head out to challenge the Desert Edge Scorpions at 6:00 p.m.

While North Canyon is heading in to the game without a victory, things might be looking up considering their last matchup was the closest they've come to getting one. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Desert Edge.

Haylee Jensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Jocelyn Thompson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Mia Hernandez also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

North Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Desert Edge, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.
