Basketball Recap: Seffner Christian Comes Up Short

The Seffner Christian Crusaders lost 70-45 to the Miramar Patriots on Saturday. The matchup marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Seffner Christian still got an impressive performance from Arcadian Davis, who posted 23 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Davis' fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Tyndale Pittman was another key player, putting up four points and seven boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miramar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Martell Smith, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 14 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayson Negrin, who shot 44% from the field en route to 20 points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Seffner Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Miramar, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Seffner Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Winthrop College Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. As for Miramar, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-56 win against Cooper City on the 1st.
