Baseball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

The Columbus Discoverers came up short against the Standing Bear Grizzlies on Saturday and fell 6-2.

Columbus got a good showing from Dayton Snyder, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest earned runs Snyder has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Columbus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Rausch, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Standing Bear, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Columbus is set to square off against their familiar foe Elkhorn at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Standing Bear will challenge rival Blair at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
