Softball Recap: Gray Stone Day Wins Going Away Against Forest Hills

Gray Stone Day won the last time they faced Forest Hills and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the Gray Stone Day Knights' way against the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets as the Gray Stone Day Knights made off with an 18-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Helen Klauder made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Klauder was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Gray Stone Day let Isabella Shulenberger and Lindsey Stirewalt run wild. Shulenberger went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Stirewalt scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three RBI gave Shulenberger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Currie, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Gray Stone Day's record is now 2-0. As for Forest Hills, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Gray Stone Day will head out to square off against Wheatmore at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest Hills, they will host South Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
