Basketball Game Preview: Drummond Lumberjacks vs. Solon Springs Eagles

Drummond is 2-8 against Solon Springs since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Drummond Lumberjacks will host the Solon Springs Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, Drummond didn't have quite enough to beat Flambeau and fell 59-57.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Solon Springs). They took their game on Monday with ease, bagging a 90-19 victory over Butternut. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season.

Solon Springs has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Drummond, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Drummond was taken down by Solon Springs 77-36 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Drummond avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
