Soccer Game Preview: Dr. Phillips vs. Colonial

The Dr. Phillips Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Colonial Grenadiers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dr. Phillips' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dr. Phillips took on Lake Nona on Tuesday. Dr. Phillips came up short against Lake Nona, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Lions are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Colonial made sure to put some goals up on the board against Lake Howell on Monday. They came out on top against the Silverhawks by a score of 4-2. It was an even better day for Jayvyn Jackson as he scored three goals for his team.

Colonial's victory bumped their record up to 6-2-3. As for Dr. Phillips, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2-3.

Dr. Phillips beat Colonial by a goal when the teams last played back in December of 2019, winning 2-1. Will Dr. Phillips repeat their success, or does Colonial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
