Recap: Penns Grove Red Devils vs. Clayton Clippers
The Penns Grove Red Devils had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Clayton by a score of 47-37. That's another feather in the cap for Penns Grove, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Clayton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rainelle Blocker. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Penns Grove pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Clayton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Penns Grove won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bridgeton at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th. As for Clayton, they will head out on the road to face off against Wildwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
