Softball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to the Purdy Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Purdy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Southwest will be playing in front of their home fans against Marionville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Purdy, they will head out on the road to challenge Jasper at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
