Softball Game Preview: Kettering Captains vs. Lake Orion Dragons

The Kettering Captains will venture away from home to square off against the Lake Orion Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Kettering couldn't beat Avondale on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 4-4 draw.

Meanwhile, while Lake Orion put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Oxford. The Dragons blew past the Wildcats 10-0. Considering the Dragons have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lake Orion has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. Kettering's tie gives them a new season record of 3-19-1.

Kettering might still be hurting after the 19-7 defeat they got from Lake Orion when the teams last played back in April of 2018. Can the Captains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
