Baseball Recap: Wiregrass Takes a Loss

Wiregrass extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost 15-4 to the Evangel Christian Lightning. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kings of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Colt Crisler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

As for Evangel Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Evangel Christian's side, DREW NARRELL was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits NARRELL has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was JACKSON BOURGEOIS, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Wiregrass will square off against rival Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Evangel Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Ezekiel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
