Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian School Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Heritage Christian School walked away with it. They strolled past the Ruskin Christian Warriors with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 75-57. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three matches in a row.

Heritage Christian School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Reid led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Reid is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavyn Gailfoil, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points in addition to four steals and three blocks.

Ruskin Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Evan Neighbors, who posted 25 points. Trevin Kennison was another key player, putting up 19 points.

Heritage Christian School pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Ruskin Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7.
