Volleyball Recap: Meigs Takes a Loss

Meigs came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Eastern Eagles, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Marauders in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

While Meigs was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Eastern's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-9, 25-17.

Eastern found their leader in freshman Emeri Lloyd, who had 16 digs and one assist. Lloyd is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Meigs' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eastern, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Meigs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Warren on the 25th. As for Eastern, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Waverly on the 23rd.
