Recap: Red Mesa Redskins vs. Fredonia Lynx
The Red Mesa Redskins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on Fredonia with a sharp 67-41 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Red Mesa as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Leading Red Mesa to victory were Dakota Loucks and Josh Begay. Loucks dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Begay scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Begay has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicamiah Vigil, who scored six points along with five assists and five steals.
Red Mesa's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17. As for Fredonia, their defeat was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-19.
Red Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fredonia won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grand Canyon at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Grand Canyon is ranked 349th, while Fredonia is ranked 344th).
