Hammond has gone a perfect 10-0 against Augusta Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Skyhawks will square off against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Hammond will be strutting in after a victory while Augusta Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Hammond will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up ten points last Friday, then bounced right back against Laurence Manning Academy on Friday. The Skyhawks claimed a resounding 37-8 win over the Swampcats.

Ben Muela Kiser was his usual excellent self, rushing for 114 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 209 yards and two TDs.

Meanwhile, Augusta Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Heathwood Hall Episcopal 33-0. The shutout was out of character for the Lions seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Augusta Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jackson Stickel and Beau Rhodes.

Hammond's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Augusta Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Thursday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Hammond has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 241 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Augusta Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 23.1 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for Hammond against Augusta Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 55-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skyhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
