Softball Game Preview: Mukwonago Indians vs. Oconomowoc Raccoons

Mukwonago hasn't had much luck against Oconomowoc recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raccoons at 4:30 p.m. Mukwonago is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Mukwonago is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Arrowhead on Tuesday. They came up short against the Warhawks, falling 11-1. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Meanwhile, Oconomowoc waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Crusaders 12-1. Considering the Raccoons have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Macy Brazelton was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine games. Jordan Winkelman was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Mukwonago's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Oconomowoc, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Mukwonago has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Oconomowoc struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Mukwonago was able to grind out a solid victory over Oconomowoc in their previous matchup back in April, winning 5-2. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Raccoons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
