Volleyball Recap: Edcouch-Elsa Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Maya Flores and Alliyah Ramirez

It was a good run, but Edcouch-Elsa unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Pace Vikings. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Edcouch-Elsa's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alliyah Ramirez, who had 17 digs, and Maya Flores, who had seven digs and seven assists.

Leading Pace to victory were Andrea Salgado and Risa Trevi?o. Salgado had 19 digs and four aces, while Trevi?o had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Salgado has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Melody Valerio, who had 12 digs.

Edcouch-Elsa's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Pace, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Edcouch-Elsa has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Donna North on the 19th. As for Pace, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Mission Veterans Memorial on the 16th.
