Softball Recap: Canyon Crest Academy Has No Trouble Against Liberty Charter

Canyon Crest Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Liberty Charter on Wednesday. Canyon Crest Academy was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Liberty Charter. The contest marked the Ravens' most dominant victory of the season.

Alexis McNamee and Addison Okerberg did most of the damage at the plate: McNamee scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Okerberg scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Okerberg a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Grace Yao, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Canyon Crest Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Canyon Crest Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. Liberty Charter dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Canyon Crest Academy Ravens take on Scripps Ranch Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Scripps Ranch will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Canyon Crest Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Liberty Charter, they will face off against Chula Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
