Baseball Recap: Porterville Comes Up Short

Porterville lost against Redwood back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Rangers, falling 11-4. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Porterville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Miranda, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Porterville's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Redwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Porterville will head out to square off against Golden West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Trailblazers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Redwood, they are taking a road trip to challenge Monache at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Marauders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight.
