Baseball Game Preview: Connersville Spartans vs. Union County Patriots

The Connersville Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Union County Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Connersville came up short against East Central and fell 15-11.

Brayden Keller and Aaron Kidd did some serious damage despite the final result: Keller went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Kidd went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Keller's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Lykins, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Franklin County hit Union County with a four-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots lost 12-2 to the Wildcats. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Union County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Boone, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Connersville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Connersville skirted past Union County 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
