Volleyball Recap: Opp Comes Up Short

Opp lost against Brantley back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bobcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Opp might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Brantley: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-23.

Ella Jones paced Opp's offense, picking up four kills. Jones got some help from Rylie Kate Thrash and her six assists. Finally, Jones was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Opp now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Brantley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Opp and Brantley will both be playing LAMP the next time they take the court. The Bobcats will host the Golden Tigers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
