With a playoff win on the line, Marion rose to the challenge on Saturday. They secured a 92-88 W over the New Haven Bulldogs. The victory was familiar territory for the Giants, who have now won three matches in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Barnes, who shot 75% from the field en route to 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Marion is undefeated when Barnes posts 15 or more points, but 10-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Johnson, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points in addition to eight boards and six steals.

Marion was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They racked up seven more assists than New Haven's also-impressive total of 16.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tarvar Baskerville, who shot 41% from the field on his way to 25 points along with seven assists and four steals. Baskerville continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamal Lawrence, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds.

Marion's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for New Haven, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 14-11.

Marion has already played their next contest, a 78-72 loss against Maconaquah on the 15th. New Haven does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
