Basketball Game Preview: Tulare Union Tribe vs. Fresno Warriors

The Tulare Union Tribe will challenge the Fresno Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tulare Union knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Fresno likes a good challenge.

Tulare Union will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Tulare Western, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Tulare Union walked away with an 83-73 win over Tulare Western on Tuesday.

Tulare Union's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Demaje Riley, who posted 29 points. Riley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Stevenson, who had 20 points.

Meanwhile, Fresno lost to Roosevelt on the road by a 66-48 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while the Rough Riders are ranked 282nd).

Fresno now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Tulare Union, their win bumped their record up to 23-5.

Tulare Union beat Fresno 68-59 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Tulare Union repeat their success, or does Fresno have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
