Baseball Game Preview: Woodburn Bulldogs vs. South Albany Redhawks

For the second straight game, Woodburn will face off against South Albany. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Redhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Woodburn has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 5th.

Woodburn fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against South Albany on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redhawks. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Mason Pickett was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pickett was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Pickett wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Manny Alvarez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That RBI was Alvarez's first of the season.

South Albany's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-13. As for Woodburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
