Basketball Recap: Clinton Takes Down Ranked Tupelo

On Friday, Clinton faced Tupelo in a battle between two of the state's top teams. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Clinton Arrows made off with a 54-53 victory over the Tupelo Golden Wave. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Arrows also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Tupelo, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will challenge Starkville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Starkville will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Clinton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tupelo, they are taking a road trip to take on Murrah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
