Baseball Game Preview: Dutch Fork Silver Foxes vs. Chapin Eagles

Dutch Fork is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Chapin Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Dutch Fork is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, everything went Dutch Fork's way against Greer as Dutch Fork made off with a 13-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Silver Foxes.

Boone Miller tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Dutch Fork let Ethan Offing and Ryan Salters run wild. Offing went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Salters scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. With that strong performance, Salters is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. C Morden was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Chapin didn't have quite enough to beat Mid-Carolina on Saturday and fell 2-1. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Chapin also got a good showing from Mac Berry, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Chapin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Harris, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Dutch Fork's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Chapin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Dutch Fork suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Chapin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Dutch Fork avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
