Newton South waltzed into their contest on Monday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They came out on top against the Duxbury Dragons by a score of 60-50. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Dragons are ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newton South's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Duxbury, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
