If Trinidad wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sargent, they should've done a better job of containing Lucas Garcia. The Sargent Farmers secured a 36-31 W over the Trinidad Miners on Saturday thanks to Garcia, who went 5-for-10 en route to 18 points and seven boards. He is becoming a predictor of Sargent's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't).

Trinidad lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Andres Romero, who posted ten points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Sandoval, who earned nine points.

Sargent's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Trinidad, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Looking ahead, Sargent will take on Crested Butte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinidad, they will square off against Raton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Raton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season.
