Football Game Preview: Bountiful Redhawks vs. Brighton Bengals

Two dominant backs in Siaki Fekitoa and Staton Gutierrez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bountiful Redhawks will face off against the Brighton Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Bountiful beats Brighton with 42 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Redhawks came out on top against Alta by a score of 42-31 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redhawks.

Bountiful didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aisake Willis and Mason Tidwell. Willis got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Brighton faced Woods Cross in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bengals walked away with a 28-21 win over the Wildcats. The victory continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Brighton's win came from a few key players Bountiful will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryce Palepoi, who threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns. What's more, he racked up 134.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

The win got Brighton back to even at 4-4. As for Bountiful, the victory also got them back to even at 4-4.

Bountiful strolled past Brighton in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 24-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
