Baseball Recap: Chesnee Takes a Loss

Chesnee came into this matchup off a tough seven-run defeat last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Saluda Tigers by a score of 8-6 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Chesnee's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Saluda, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Chesnee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-1 victory against Landrum on the 15th. As for Saluda, they will take on Barnwell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.7, the Warhorses 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
