Lakeside Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Sherwin Simmons and Blaise Tshibangu

Recap: Lakeside Christian Lions vs. Sickles Gryphons
After a string of seven wins, the Lakeside Christian Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Sickles 73-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Tuesday (61), Lakeside Christian still had to take the loss.
Lakeside Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Blaise Tshibangu and Sherwin Simmons. Tshibangu scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Simmons scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Tommy Shores was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Lakeside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Sickles, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
Lakeside Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against St. Petersburg Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on December 28th. Hopefully St. Petersburg Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Friday. Sickles won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hollins at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Hollins is ranked 362nd, while Sickles is ranked 351st).
