Softball Game Preview: Rogue River Chieftains vs. North Valley Knights

Rogue River hasn't had much luck against North Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chieftains will take on the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Rogue River will be strutting in after a win while North Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

While Rogue River's victory against Klamath Union wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Chieftains had just enough and edged out the Pelicans 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Chieftains in their matchups with the Pelicans: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, North Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Brookings-Harbor.

North Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Rogue River, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Rogue River couldn't quite get it done against North Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can the Chieftains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
