Volleyball Recap: Norwood Takes a Loss

If Norwood was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Dove Creek on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mavericks lost 3-0 to the Telluride Miners on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mavericks of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Norwood was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22, 25-15.

Darcy Bray paced Norwood's offense, picking up four kills. Bray got some help from Josey Tedder and her five assists. Charlie Mull controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Telluride was led to victory by Ford Fenton and Ella Metheny. Fenton had 14 digs and one assist, while Metheny had seven digs and three assists. That's the most assists Metheny has posted since back in August.

Norwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Telluride, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Norwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Ouray on the 3rd. As for Telluride, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Ridgway on the 2nd.
