Baseball Recap: MISL CTX Gets the Win

MISL CTX proved they can win big last Friday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Allegiance Lions 8-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-7 back in February.

TJ Staley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Caeden Pamager was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cadyn Baldenegro was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

MISL CTX was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Allegiance only posted a batting average of .222.

MISL CTX now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Allegiance, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

MISL CTX has already played their next game (against D'Hanis), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Allegiance, they will be taking part in a tournament against West Houston HomeSchool at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunder have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
