Football Recap: Eldorado Firehawks vs. Moapa Valley Pirates
After flying high against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus last Tuesday, Eldorado came back down to earth. The Eldorado Firehawks lost 32-12 to the Moapa Valley Pirates on Friday. The Firehawks haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Moapa Valley found their leader in sophomore Summer Katich, who threw for 197 yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Katich a new career-high in rushing yards (20). Siena Andrew was in the mix as well, providing Moapa Valley with two touchdowns.
Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Moapa Valley, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2.
After both having extra time off, Eldorado and Virgin Valley will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
