Volleyball Recap: South Bend Adams Comes Up Short

South Bend Adams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

South Bend Adams took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Ella Gerard was a one-woman wrecking crew For South Bend Saint Joseph. as she had 17 digs and four aces. The dominant performance also gave Gerard a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was Ava Myers, who had nine digs and two assists.

South Bend Adams now has a losing record of 5-6. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-12.

South Bend Adams has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Penn on the 25th. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Triton on the 20th.
