Basketball Recap: Timpview Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Timpview posted their closest victory since December 21, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the American Fork Cavemen 62-60. The win was just business as usual for the Thunderbirds, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Timpview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Openshaw, who posted 15 points and eight boards. Openshaw is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Dean Rueckert, who earned 12 points and five assists.

American Fork lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bryce Mella, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 21 points and five rebounds. Jax Clark was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 13 points and eight boards.

Timpview's record now sits at 3-0. As for American Fork, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Timpview will face off against Foothill at 3:20 p.m. on December 5. As for American Fork, they will challenge Highland at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
