Basketball Recap: Hanceville Takes a Loss

Hanceville lost against Locust Fork back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hanceville Bulldogs were outmatched by the Locust Fork Hornets and fell 88-43. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Hornets are ranked 102nd).

Locust Fork's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Levi White led the charge by going 9 for 13 on his way to 27 points and six boards. White has been hot for a while, having posted 19 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Horn, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and three steals.

Hanceville has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Locust Fork, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Hanceville will be playing at home against Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Locust Fork, they will head out to square off against Jasper at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Locust Fork's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
