Preview: Bishop Dunne Falcons vs. Brighter Horizons Academy Stars
The Bishop Dunne Falcons will be playing at home against the Brighter Horizons Academy Stars at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, Bishop Dunne lost to Grapevine Faith Christian at home by a decisive 54-38 margin. While losing is never fun, Bishop Dunne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 789th, while Grapevine Faith Christian is ranked 349th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Brighter Horizons Academy, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were outmatched by Grapevine Faith Christian at home and fell 73-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brighter Horizons Academy has scored all season.
Bishop Dunne has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Brighter Horizons Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-8.
Bishop Dunne came out on top in a nail-biter against Brighter Horizons Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 59-56.
