The Lancaster Flying Arrows will challenge the Southwestern Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lancaster is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Lancaster came up short against Dodgeville and fell 7-3. The match marked the Flying Arrows' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Maddy Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amelia Johnsen was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Southwestern's offense. They fell just short of Cuba City by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Cubans: they've now lost six in a row.

Lancaster's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Southwestern's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Lancaster has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Southwestern, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Lancaster keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?

Lancaster skirted past Southwestern 5-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Will the Flying Arrows repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
