Soccer Game Preview: Howards Grove vs. Kiel

The Howards Grove Tigers will head out to challenge the Kiel Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Kiel will have to contend with a Howards Grove squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen since September 20. Howards Grove fell just short of Oostburg by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Howards Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Oostburg are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Kiel came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Falcons a 1-0 shutout.

Kiel's victory bumped their record up to 7-8-2. As for Howards Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-2.

Howards Grove might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Kiel in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 4-0.
