Baseball Recap: Mesilla Valley Christian School Triumphs

Mesilla Valley Christian School's tournament run continued when they took on Ruidoso on Thursday. Mesilla Valley Christian School sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Ruidoso. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the SonBlazers.

Jeremiah Sullivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Matt Borde was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Davis Coyle, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.

Mesilla Valley Christian School's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Ruidoso, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mesilla Valley Christian School will be taking part in a tournament against Chaparral at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Chaparral will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Mesilla Valley Christian School surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ruidoso, they will face off against Bosque at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Ruidoso their first taste of in-conference action this season.
