Softball Recap: Jacobs Comes Up Short

Jacobs's last matchup with Hampshire could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Eagles lost 14-5 to the Whip-Purs. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Jacobs saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Wetzel, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Talia Disilvio also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Jacobs' loss dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Hampshire, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jacobs will challenge rival Crystal Lake Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hampshire is set to face off against their familiar foe Crystal Lake South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
