Baseball Recap: Orangeville Comes Up Short

Orangeville fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Albany/Monticello on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Albany/Monticello by a score of 13-12. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (11), the Broncos still had to take the loss.

Brian Dittmar and Kayden Pfieffer did some serious damage despite the final result: Dittmar got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Pfieffer went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Matthew Soddy was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI.

Orangeville's loss dropped their record down to 3-19.

Coming up, Orangeville will take on River Ridge/Scales Mound at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Albany/Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
