Recap: Harvest Community Warriors vs. Stanton Blue Devils
The Harvest Community Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 42-8 loss at the hands of Stanton. Harvest Community was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.
Jaxon Harshman rushed for 12 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Rowell was his top target, picking up 73 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Harvest Community's loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Oak Hall and 7-1 Christ's Church Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.7% over those games). As for Stanton, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-6.
Harvest Community will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Duval Charter at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Duval Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Stanton, they will be playing at home against Cocoa Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Cocoa Beach is ranked 501st, while Stanton is ranked 489th).
