Softball Recap: Troy Comes Up Short

Troy extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-5 in the process. They came up short against the McLouth Bulldogs, falling 10-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

As for McLouth, the win keeps they at an undefeated 15-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games.

For McLouth's part, the team relied heavily on Maddie Turner, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Turner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charley Coffin, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

While Troy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
