Mohave hasn't had much luck against Coconino recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Thunderbirds will face off against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mohave barely beat Mingus the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Thunderbirds blew past the Marauders 21-11 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbirds.

Mohave got a massive performance out of Jahnezz Jones, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allison Portillo, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.
Mohave was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Coconino had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Monday. Everything went their way against the Padres as they made off with a 19-2 victory.
Kaitlyn Tso spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mia Pozar was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Aryanna Dominguez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Coconino pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Mohave, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mohave hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Coconino struggles in that department as they've averaged .391. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mohave might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Coconino in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
