Softball Recap: Bledsoe County Sets Scoring Season-High Against Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bledsoe County). They blew past the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Patriots 15-7 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Warriors needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The team relied heavily on Macy Holland, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailee McCauley, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Holland wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bledsoe County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bledsoe County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bledsoe County will challenge Sequatchie County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they will square off against Lookout Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
