Baseball Recap: Moore Haven Triumphs

Moore Haven proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Terriers have posted since February 18, 2025.

Colt Rhymes and Thaddeus Johns were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Rhymes pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Johns struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. At the plate, Rhymes went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Johns went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kenny Simmons, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Moore Haven's record is now 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moore Haven will welcome Glades Day at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Terriers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Sheridan Hills Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Katz Yeshiva at 4:00 p.m.
