Soccer Recap: Mount Dora Falls Short of Satellite in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mount Dora can now relate to. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Satellite Scorpions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Scorpions are ranked 127th).

Mount Dora has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8-1 record this season. As for Satellite, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7-1 record this season.

Mount Dora does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Satellite, they will welcome Merritt Island at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Merritt Island will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Satellite surely won't give up without a fight.
