Agua Fria proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Peoria Panthers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Owls have posted since April 18, 2024.

Agua Fria saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyani Blythe, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Taylor McElroy was another, going 2-for-3 with one double.

Agua Fria is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Peoria, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

Agua Fria didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-9 defeat against Goldwater on the 11th. As for Peoria, they will square off against Deer Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Skyhawks have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
